The iFTI Curriculum team and DC 09 initiated the development of Building Carbonization course. The course offers two online modules:
1. Building Decarbonization for the Glazing Trade
2. Installation Techniques for High-Performance Glazing
GLZ 5453 Building Decarbonization for the Glazing Trade* (1 hour) – Building Decarbonization means cutting the carbon pollution that buildings cause — from the energy they use, and from the materials used to build them — so we can help fix climate change.
iFTI has partnered with 360Training (https://www.360training.com/) to deliver Lead and Asbestos Awareness for Canada in the iFTI Learning Management System *(LMS)
CAN 1156C Lead Awareness* (Canada) – 2 hours – This lead awareness training course presents an overview of lead exposure, including the sources of lead in construction, modes of exposure, and applicable legislation. Topics include health problems identified with lead exposure, developing an exposure control plan, and lead sampling and analysis (Certification Period: 36 months).
CAN 1145C Asbestos Awareness* (Canada) – 2 hours – This asbestos awareness certification course details the history, properties, and adverse health effects of asbestos. It also outlines best practices for surveys and risk assessments to limit exposure to asbestos-containing materials. Construction asbestos training ensures workers understand the risks involved with asbestos work activities and how to protect themselves from asbestos-related diseases (Certification Period: 36 months).
