COE Accreditation

The International Finishing Trades Institute is accredited by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education (COE) and is entitled to the recognition and associated privileges of this designation. Accreditation is a status granted to an educational institution or program that has been found to meet or exceed stated criteria of educational quality and student achievement. Accreditation by COE is viewed as a nationally-honored seal of excellence for occupational education institutions and denotes honesty and integrity.

Not only does accreditation provide for continuous improvement of our educational programs and a commitment to the needs of our students, but it also ensures the iFTI will adhere to the mission, strategic planning, and upkeep of our instructional materials, student services and institutional facilities to provide the best possible environment to the highest benefit of our members. Our members will be recognized by employers and in the forefront for employment. Accreditation provides opportunity for funding from state and federal entities such as the Department of Education and the Department of Labor.

Being a COE-accredited institution also allowed us to register as an .EDU. This provides a host of benefits to us as an educational institution, such as discounts from vendors like Dell and Microsoft; free accounts on the G Suite environment by Google, and discounted Google Chrome device licenses with lifetime support and a multitude of other educational resources.
