Capturing Trade Show Work in Action
DC 36, Local Union 831, and the iFTI recently hosted a photo and video shoot at the California Trade Show and Sign Crafts Joint Apprenticeship Training Center in Garden Grove, CA. The shoot focused on a wide range of jobs and tasks that trade show workers perform—everything from floor marking and stacking and moving materials, to properly setting up booths, such as hanging drapes and cutting and laying carpet, and so much more. The footage captures the skill, teamwork, and professionalism our members learn and are expected to bring to every event, showing exactly what it takes to make trade shows run seamlessly.

Enhancing Curriculum for All Members
The images and video produced will directly support the curriculum that is currently under committee review, including new content development, offering trade show installers across North America a stronger, more engaging learning experience. By pairing classroom instruction with real-world examples of safe practices, skilled techniques, and efficient workflows, the updated materials give apprentices and journeypersons a clearer understanding of trade show tasks and expectations. This collaborative project reflects our commitment to continually improving training and making sure every member, regardless of region, has access to the highest-quality resources that reflect the real work they do every day.
