FTI 1152 Biological Effects of Radiation 02122021

The course will review the fundamentals of radiation affects on the human body. Current scientific concepts and misconception of radiations effects of radiation will be presented and discussed. Participants will develop a solid understanding of radiation exposure and dose affects human biology. Methods for teaching and incorporating these concepts into HAZWOPER and other health and safety courses will be discussed. There will be short review activity with this course to reinforce material. This course will be a benefit to trainers who deliver health and safety related courses or to IUPAT members who have health and safety responsibilities at their DC or LU as well as those who may work around radiological materials (e.g. ship building, DOE sites, areas where radiological sources are used).
