ATD, The Association for Talent Development, formerly known as the American Society for Training Directors, is celebrating its 80th anniversary as a professional membership organization that supports those who develop the knowledge and skills of workers around the world. Last month, members of the iFTI curriculum team attended ATD’s CORE4 Conference in Orlando, FL.
CORE 4 focuses on the core elements of learning and development including evaluating impact, instructional design practices, training delivery and facilitation, and emerging trends. We found value in this conference through the sessions and discussion with other learning development professionals and learned practical ways to strengthen our programs through clearer objectives and more intentional facilitation methods that will guide the delivery of a class with purpose, strategy, and decisions built around the learner, instead of just delivering content. CORE4 reminded us of the power of learning from others, and we came back inspired, aligned, and ready to put new ideas into practice.
