DESCRIPTION:16 hours \nWithin the trades\, mentorship is emerging as one of the most critical elements in workforce development.  This two-day Mentorship Matters™ Train-the-Trainer program is divided into two separate workshops – Six Steps to Mentoring (4hrs) and Six Skills for Apprentices (4hrs) and will provide the tools to effectively deliver this program. The goal of these training sessions is to maximize effectiveness of communication and skill transfer between the new worker\, and the mentor. \nThe core of the Mentorship training program is divided into two four hour workshops. One workshop\, will help journeypersons define mentorship\, learn the qualities of a good mentor\, and to understand the role that mentorship has in developing on the job skills\, quality\, safety\, and productivity. \nThe second workshop is for the mentee apprentice. DESCRIPTION:3hrs \nThis an introductory to mid-level mold course. It will take an in-depth look at what molds are (including species and species characteristics)\, where you are likely to find them in occupational and public health settings\, what their health effects are\, how to protect workers and the public from them\, how to reduce worker health risk when encountering them on the job\, review regulations and guidance and finally\, present basics of sound mold abatement strategies. This course will benefit any trainer wishing to understand more about mold at a greater depth\, as well as those responsible for work development where mold may be an issue. Lastly\, this is a great presentation on mold work-related issues that would benefit any IUPAT member\, as mold can become an occupational issue in any field\, if the conditions are right. A small group activity is included concerning mold remediation strategies.
