SUMMARY:FTI 1165C Mobile Elevated Working Platform (MEWP) 06272022
DESCRIPTION:32 Hours \nThe intent of the MEWP training is to provide a comprehensive training program covering aerial lifts including Boom Lifts\, Scissor Lifts and Truck Mounted Bucket Lifts which are used by union members.  The course will address the federal requirements as outlined under OSHA 1926.21 Safety & Training Education; 1926.453 Aerial Lifts\, and 1926.503 Fall Protection and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)/ Scaffold & Access Industry Association (ANSI/SAIA) A92 Standards. \nThe MEWP training course is a four (4) day course. The course will involve three (3) days of in class interactive class instruction with group activities and practical exercises. A written examination will be given in the afternoon of the 3rd day of the course. \nThe course includes the following training modules: \n\nModule 1 – Introductions;\nModule 2 – Administration;\nModule 3 – Ten Most Hazardous Activities Involving Mn Made Lifts for Drywallers and Painters;\nModule 4 – OSHA Fatalities & Safety Concerns;\nModule 5 – MEWP Definitions;\nModule 6 – Regulatory Overview;\nModule 7 – ANSI/SAIA A92 Standards;\nModule 8 – Stabilizing & Positioning Aerial Lifts;\nModule 9 – Fall Protection & Guard Rail Systems;\nModule 10 – Inspection of MEWP & Records;\nModule 11 – Operation of a MEWP;\nModule 12 – MEWP Classification\, Components\, Operator Controls\, & Movement;\nModule 13 – ANSI A92.2 Vehicle Mounted Bucket Truck;\nModule 14 – Personal Protective Equipment;\nModule 15 – IUPAT IFTI MEWP Training Requirements; and\nModule 16 – Key Takeaways.\n\nThe last day of the course will involve operator competency demonstrations on the aerial lifts including operation of the lifts and pre inspection of the lift prior to operation. Course participants can test on all three (3) aerial lifts or just on the lift(s) that they will operate. Training certificates and wallet sized licenses will be provided to all members who successfully complete the training.  \nPrerequisite: None \nENROLL NOW: Ask your DOT to complete the DOT Request – Training Registration Form. You can fill out the Instructor/Coordinator Training Registration Form but the request will be forwarded to your DOT for approval.
