DESCRIPTION:40 Hours \nThe marine and industrial coatings industry is a primary target for growth within the IUPAT. The industry is complex with many different facets including public bridges\, highways\, water and wastewater facilities\, and other infrastructure needs. The industry also has many private elements such as power plants\, refineries\, and mills. The industry also places high standards on worker certifications\, application techniques\, contractor certifications\, and environmental protections. Students will learn the Organizing techniques necessary to build effective campaigns. This will be an off-site training; it will take place at a District Council who has an ongoing Industrial Organizing campaign. \nPrerequisite: Leadership Series Completion or a minimum of 4 Core Leadership Series Courses \nENROLL NOW: Ask your DoT to complete the DOT Request – Training Registration Form. You can fill out the Instructor/Coordinator Training Registration Form but the request will be forwarded to your DOT for approval.

DESCRIPTION:40 Hours \nThis course is designed for members interested in teaching the 10- and 30-hour construction safety and health outreach program. Special emphasis is placed on those topics that are required in the 10- and 30-hour programs as well as on those that are the most hazardous\, using OSHA standards as a guide. Course participants are briefed on effective instructional approaches and the effective use of visual aids and handouts. This course allows the student to become a trainer and to conduct both a 10- and 30-hour construction safety and health course and to issue cards to participants verifying course completion. NOTE: Students in OSHA 500 who wish to participate as authorized trainers in the Outreach Program must successfully pass a written exam at the end of the course. Outreach trainers are required to attend Course 502 at least once every four years to maintain their trainer status (Certification Period: 48 months). \nPrerequisite: Pre-req Form \nENROLL NOW: Ask your DOT to complete the DOT Request – Training Registration Form.
